Getting started

4 answers
What device and OS do I need?

An iPhone or iPad running iOS 15.6 or later. Jump counting works with both the front and rear cameras; for the best AI recognition frame rate, we recommend iPhone 12 or newer. Older devices may feel slightly less responsive. Lock Screen widgets require iOS 16 or later, and in-app code redemption requires iOS 16.3 or later.

The app asks for camera access. Can I deny it?

Counting works by watching your body movement, so the camera is essential — denying access will disable the core check-in feature. Frames are processed on the phone and never uploaded. If you denied it earlier, head to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → HappyJump and turn it back on.

Where should I place the phone?

About 1.5–2.5 meters away, with the camera at the level of the jumper's upper body. Use even lighting (natural or main indoor lighting), avoid backlight. Wearing clothes that contrast with the background helps recognition stability.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes. HappyJump supports both iPhone and iPad with the exact same features; jump counting works with the front and rear cameras — prop the iPad up securely and step into the frame. With iCloud sync (Pro) enabled, your records, achievements, and profiles sync automatically between iPhone and iPad.

Counting & training

The count is off by a few. What can I do?

Counting is AI-based and affected by lighting, angle, clothing, and motion—1% error is normal. Check that:

  • The camera captures the upper body fully (including hip joints)
  • Lighting is sufficient and stable
  • Jumps are clean (both feet leaving the ground simultaneously)

If error exceeds 5%, please email us with a description of your setup.

How does the rest segment in training mode work?

No action needed. When the rest countdown ends, a beat tone plays automatically and the next segment starts. To stop training mid-session, tap the red stop button.

Fitness goals

How do fitness goals work?

On the Fitness Goals page, set a one-minute jump-rope goal for yourself or a family member: primary-school ages can use the built-in reference standard (the matching tier is filled in automatically by grade and gender), while everyone else simply sets a custom target count. After a 60-second session, the results page immediately shows your level and how far you are from your goal; the score-card level badge, weekly / monthly summaries, and the Home Screen widget reflect your goal progress too.

Basic goal evaluation is free; the goal progress chart and multiple goals are Pro features.

Where does the built-in standard come from?

The built-in reference is based on the one-minute jump-rope scoring table in China's National Student Physical Fitness Standard (2014 revision), for reference only — always follow what your school or local education authority publishes. You can also skip the built-in reference entirely and set a fully custom target count.

Friend challenge

The Challenge Center says "Sign in to iCloud", but I'm already signed in.

Go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps using iCloud, and make sure HappyJump is toggled on. If the toggle is on but the message persists, restart the app or your device.

My invite code expired in 48h. Can I extend it?

No. Codes expire after 48 hours, primarily to prevent stale codes circulating in chats. Generate a new one with another quick session.

How long are challenge records kept?

Locally on your device: free version keeps the most recent 7 days / 5 sessions; Pro keeps unlimited. On Apple's CloudKit servers, records are auto-deleted 30 days after challenge completion.

How do custom challenges work?

In a custom challenge, the creator sets the jump seconds, rest seconds, and number of rounds (or imports a custom workout they've already saved). The other player then jumps once with exactly the same parameters, and the higher combined total wins. Before accepting, you'll see the full rules: what's being compared, how the winner is decided, and when it expires.

Creating a custom challenge, Cadence PK, Training PK, or Endurance challenge requires Pro; timed-jump challenges are free to create. Joining any challenge via invite code or QR is always free. Invite codes are the same 6 characters, valid for 48 hours.

Appearance & widgets

2 answers
How do I turn on dark mode and theme colors? Are they paid?

Under Settings → Appearance you can choose Follow System / Light / Dark. Dark Mode is completely free, and everything is adapted — from the launch screen and app icon to every page inside the app. The same page offers 5 theme colors: Sky Blue is the free default, while Forest Green / Violet / Coral Pink / Ocean Teal are Pro entitlements.

Appearance and theme color are saved per member: switch profiles and the app switches to that member's chosen look, so no one affects anyone else.

My Home / Lock Screen widget isn't refreshing. What can I do?

Widgets read a snapshot the app writes locally on your device, and they update automatically after a check-in or a member switch. If a widget seems stale, try these in order:

  • Open the app once (reaching the home screen or finishing a check-in triggers a data write)
  • Long-press the widget → remove it, then add it again
  • Restart your device

Widget refresh timing is scheduled by iOS itself, so an occasional delay of a few minutes is normal. Lock Screen widgets require iOS 16 or later.

Subscription & payment

5 answers
How do I cancel my subscription?

Open iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, find "HappyJump Pro", and tap "Cancel Subscription". Pro features remain available until the end of the current billing period.

Note: Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

How do I request a refund?

App Store in-app purchase refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the order, and submit a request. We're unable to issue refunds directly.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Sign in on the new device with the same Apple ID, open HappyJump → Settings → Membership, and tap "Restore Purchases". Subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID, not your device.

How does Family Sharing work?

All three products support Apple Family Sharing. Once enabled, up to 5 family members can share the Pro entitlement. Configure Family Sharing in iOS Settings → Family.

How do I redeem a code?

Got a gift code? Tap "Redeem Code" at the bottom of the paywall or under Settings → Membership. The official App Store redemption sheet appears — enter the code to unlock the corresponding Pro entitlement, identical in every way to a regular purchase.

In-app redemption requires iOS 16.3 or later. On earlier versions, the app will guide you to the App Store instead: tap your profile picture in the top-right corner → "Redeem Gift Card or Code" — redemption works just the same there.

Data & privacy

Are my jump rope videos uploaded?

No. Both real-time and end-of-session watermark passes happen on your device. When you tap "Save to Photos", the video is written to your Photo Library. We never access or upload video content.

How do I fully delete my data?

In-app: Settings → Data Management offers options to clear all records or all achievements for the current user. Deleting an entire profile cascades cleanup across records, achievements, reminders, settings, and challenge data. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. If you enabled iCloud sync, also delete HappyJump's iCloud data via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Which third-party analytics or ads SDKs are integrated?

None. We don't integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, push, or social-sharing SDKs. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Still stuck? Email us.

Include your app version and a description. We’ll respond within 1–3 business days.

If the problem is with a generated video, export the log via Settings → Data Management → “Export Video Generation Logs” and attach it.
